Unlike standard refrigerators, French door refrigerators are designed to fit flush with your kitchen counters for a sleek design. This slim design saves space for freezers.

Hernandez recommends that you check the exact dimensions before purchasing to ensure it's a good fit for your home. You'll want to make sure there's room for ventilation from all sides and that the doors can open completely without hitting cabinets or obstructing the hallway.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Bosch is a prestigious brand that is known for its high-end refrigerators. The counter-depth French doors are flush with your countertop for a built in look. The refrigerators are quiet and efficient, and have a smart-home feature that allows you to control them with your phone or tablet. The fridge is large enough to hold space for groceries and leftovers. This model has an ice maker that makes fresh, clean ice in a matter of minutes. It's simple to use, too. The ice and water dispensers are located inside the fridge instead of being on the front, which means they don't detract from the sleek design of the exterior. The dispensers can be used with any cold beverage, which includes juice and sports drinks. This refrigerator is constructed of a tough stainless steel that is resistant to scratches. It's fingerprint-resistant, too. If you're worried about smudges on your furniture, consider a cleaning solution that removes fingerprints without harsh chemicals.
This refrigerator has a generous 20.5 cubic feet of space inside and includes Bosch's exclusive FarmFresh System with four cutting-edge freshness technology to keep veggies, fruits, and leftovers fresh for three times longer than the average. The freezer's temperatures are near-perfect, with a range of less than a fraction away from ideal.
The Bosch refrigerator costs more than the GE Appliances version, but it comes with more features. It is worth the extra expense. It has a door-indoor storage space, where you can store food items in a container that fits directly into the fridge's door and features a drawer that converts to five temperature settings designed to hold different kinds of beverages such as snacks, meat, and wine. The Bosch fridge also comes with an intelligent home feature called Home Connect that you can use to control it remotely from your smartphone or tablet.
The only downsides to the refrigerator is its flimsy main drawer and difficult-to-use main door latch to the right. The fridge is an excellent choice for kitchenettes and single families that require more space than a French door refrigerator can provide. The stainless steel finishes any kitchen beautifully.
LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth refrigerators are small and offer a lot of space. These counter-depth refrigerators are also more affordable than standard-depth French-door refrigerators, and can eliminate the necessity for an under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S) that offers the capacity of a standard fridge in modern and sleek design, isn't an exception. It also has an internal dispenser that gives easy access to filtered drinking water.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins have plenty of space, and the top shelf can be folded to create a half-depth shelf to accommodate taller items. The bottom of the fridge is stocked with crisper drawers, and the deli drawer with its full width is ideal for meat or fresh produce.
A recessible ice maker is located on the back wall of the refrigerator. It saves space and makes it easier to store an additional bag of ice. The refrigerator is equipped with a door cooling system which makes use of vents in the fridge and freezer doors to let cold air into. It prevents hot spots and ensures an even temperature throughout the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It provides ample space to serve a family, but we did notice a few irritating flaws. The drawers for the freezer aren't as cold as we'd like. The temperature of the middle drawer reached 41° during our highest use test, which is enough to freeze ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature of the rest of the freezer remained around 36 degrees.
french door fridge and freezer of the refrigerator also have sunken handles that are difficult for people with shorter arms to close. It may seem trivial but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, which make them more convenient to open and close.
This fridge is expensive however it is worth it for anyone who wants an elegant appearance in their kitchen. We recommend this fridge to those looking to upgrade their refrigerator, or for those who are building a brand new home and want an integrated design in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's newest counter-depth French door fridge model, the RF23M8090SG, is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also does well in our cooling tests, but we're not a fan of its plastic handles and the bins with a crisper design feel a little flimsy.
One thing that distinguishes the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line, which lets you customize your fridge using removable color panels that can be swapped when you're tired of the current ones. There are 11 different colors with pastels through more vibrant shades. There are also four metallic finishes. These panels can be personalized to include photos or text. This will make the fridge more personal and can be matched to your Rick Owens dress, Andy Warhol banana neon or tie-dye Crocs.
You can even alter the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is a nice touch. The interior of the refrigerator has an intelligent finish that reduces the appearance of smudges and makes cleaning easy. The only downsides of the RF23M8090SG are its somewhat cramped beverage center as well as a bit of a learning curve in opening the door-in-door feature which houses a water pitcher as well as a dispenser. It is important to locate the lever on the underside of the door about halfway down. Once you find it, the second door opens up within the fridge, containing the docking station for the pitcher and the water dispenser.
The 6.8 cubic feet freezer compartment is big enough to store plenty of frozen food. It also features a slide-out drawer that lets you access the food you want without having to open the entire compartment. There's also a butter-bin-style storage compartment inside the freezer that allows for simple storage of small items, and a drawer with a huge capacity that stores bulkier frozen items. This drawer can be locked with an access code to keep intruders out and also has an attractive LED light to let you see the contents at an instant. The freezer's also able to monitor energy consumption and help you cut your energy bill by using the smart-enabled SmartThings Energy mode.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators are a great addition to any kitchen. They are sleek and work well in all sizes of rooms. Counter-depth refrigerators are the ideal option if you want this design, but without the height. This Frigidaire model which we've thoroughly tested, has received an above-average rating in our evaluations due to its reasonable price and thoughtful features like an adjustable temperature drawer.
It also has some irritating issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite a bit in the freezer, and it could get uncomfortable warm on the refrigerator's outermost shelving. That's reflected in our heat maps which show how much the interior temps fluctuate minute by minute. The butter bin in the orange section on the right is especially warm during our test period. That might not seem so bad at first, but it means the fridge spends a good part of the time at 33 degrees.
It's worth noting that this model is not Energy Star certified, which could be important for certain buyers. The issue is that this refrigerator isn't the best. It lacks advanced features and durable construction which makes it difficult to recommend it over more expensive options at this price point.
In many ways, the Frigidaire feels like the stainless-steel version of a fridge that you might see on display at the local appliance store. It's a safe choice with a polished finish that looks nice and is impervious to smudges, but it does not do much to differentiate itself from other brands that are more feature-rich and less expensive.
However, if you're looking for a cheap counter-depth French door refrigerator and don't have the budget to spend a lot on our top picks for you, then the FGHC2331PF is worth considering. It's got enough storage to meet the needs of many families and does an excellent job of keeping food fresh. Even even if it's not a green unit, it's much less expensive than our top-rated models.
